Leadership Group
Advanced Recovery Program

AFAR’s Leadership Groups offer a safe and confidential space where individuals can actively address their recovery, receive education and advice from leaders in the sex addiction field, and connect with a true peer group for support and guidance.

Everyone
deserves recovery.

Each recovery path has different challenges.

For some, their celebrity status, notoriety, or profession in the community creates a challenge to successful recovery from sex addiction. Attending local meetings and groups is not a safe or viable option. These individuals deserve a safe and confidential space in which to do their recovery work.

AFAR’s Leadership Groups offer that safe and confidential space where these individuals can actively address their recovery, receive education and dvice from leaders in the sex addiction field, and connect with a true peer group for support and guidance.

This series of retreats will be like none other offered in the recovery community. Developed by Dr. Patrick Carnes and lead by prominent, respected therapists in the field of sex and love addiction, the program is intended for individuals with established recovery and/or their partners. These 3-day programs focus on the fundamental Principles for living that are common to all the 12-Step Recovery programs and underlie our 12 Steps and 12 Traditions. You will be guided deeper into your personal recovery as you learn to live the values behind the Steps, and develop an essential skill set for daily living.

Testimonials

The degree of sobriety and the devotion of individuals in dealing with the most challenging circumstances in life without acting out has been an inspiration to me in my  personal journey.   I have only come to fully understand the true definition of recovery by being part of this fellowship.

GC

AFAR Leadership Group is the capstone of my recovery.  The unique fellowship cannot be found anywhere else.  The quarterly retreats and regular check-ins keep me on the right path and growing in my recovery.

CC

The AFAR leadership group helped to surround me with men grounded in their own long-term successful recoveries. Consequently, I have been motivated to model my journey in the same way.  The combination of in person and virtual meetings has driven me to be the best I can be.

PA

My involvement in AFAR began the weekend after completing PCS over 5 years ago. The combination of meetings and virtual follow up with the group has become the most important part of my recovery and continues to offer the support and accountability that other tools don’t.
